Princess Cut Diamond
Calculated Appraisal Value: Unable to Calculate Value
Princess cut diamonds are faceted similar to a brilliant, which means they reflect light very well. If you are looking for a square shaped diamond, then princess may be your best bet. They were especially popular in the 1990s and continue to be the second most popular today.
Please note that GIA refers to princess cut diamonds as square modified brilliant or, in case the diamond is not square, rectangular modified brilliants.

I do not think I could rate any particular diamond shape below a 4. Princess cut are beautiful in their faceting and ability to reflect light. However, their sharp corners are difficult for even an experienced jeweler to set. We frequently see princess cut diamonds that have broken corners from when a jeweler is pushing the metal prong over the corner.
