Will Make Their Resurgence
I really like marquise shape diamonds. Right now, however, they are not selling. Thus, I am selective in the ones that I buy. In the 1980s and early 1990s, my family sold so many marquise; however, now, they are sitting in my vault. Furthermore, I see so many poorly cut marquise shaped diamonds. These diamonds are either improperly proportioned meaning they are too narrow or wide or have a noticeable bow-tie in the middle. With that said, marquise diamonds will be back. Fashion works in the cycles, and this shape is beautiful. We have used a few marquise recent in bezel sets as accents where they look beautiful: one time on a ring and another on a station necklace. I expect this trend to continue to grow and will once again see marquises as a sought-after shape.
