Online Jewelry Appraisal Feature Made Better
Highlights:
SellMy.Jewelry is an iterative web application. Check out recent improvements in how your instant online jewelry appraisal is displayed.
Web applications are complicated, and one focused on helping you sell your fine jewelry is no different.
The quotes you receive through my instant quote feature have always been accurate. As you can see from my about page, I learned about using data for predictions in graduate school. That skill combined that with my familiar experience with jewelry has allowed me to build this web application.
What I did not know is web application specifics. Developing an instant quote or instant appraisal application in Microsoft Excel would be much easier for me. However, the power of, ubiquity of, and our comfort level with the internet makes it a much better platform to release to product.
Over the past year and a few months, I have learned to develop. This web application has a sophisticated backend to provide you the functionality especially the instant, online appraisals. I underestimated how complicated modern web applications are, and this one is not even that complicated. They are built in many different programming languages and rely on far out technologies that leave me in awe when they work.
In the past few weeks, I have been improving the appearance. The site looks better on mobile. The buttons are easier to identify and find. There is a logo. You should be able to find the address, phone number, and basic information quicker and with less effort. The site should be easier to access some pages like the jewelry appraisal tool that is free, instant, and online. There are still improvements to be made such as helping you find more information on how to get your jewelry appraised and having more specific jewelry items for appraisals.
I am particularly happy about one specific improvement. The page pictured here where you view the instant quote was just updated. The page is much clearer emphasizing the actual value I pay for similar jewelry. The graphic produced with assistance from Third Principle should help you see that for large diamonds I quote a range. You can still see the details of the quote by clicking on the button labeled “How this is calculated”.
The goal is provide not only accurate jewelry appraisal information but also understandable. The new page layout I believe accomplishes that. I still see improvements that need to be made. You should have the option to E-mail yourself a copy of the appraisal, for example. I should make it clearer you cannot view a quote that was already given for security purposes. Those updates will come.
For now, hope the online free jewelry appraisals are helpful for you. I do want to buy your jewelry, so please contact me if you have any questions. Also, I will continue to develop features. If you have a suggestion, please do not hesitate for forward those along.
